1. Welcome & Announcements
Summer is officially here. If you have children, they are probably out of school by now. I hope you have planned out the "perfect" summer for you and your family -- whether it's an action-packed, fun-filled, or totally laid-back, do-nothing kind of summer.
On June 12, 2007, the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) Essex Chapter hosted its annual Diversity Luncheon at Newark Museum. I'm proud to be part of the Planning Committee for this fabulous event that celebrates diversity and empowers women business owners to plant the seeds & grow their businesses. Whether you are a business owner, professional woman, or a stay-at-home mom, it's critical for your well-being and success to have adequate support, either from a mentor, life coach, support group, mastermind group, or a professional association such as NJAWBO.
Having support and accountability could make all the difference between reaching your goals and quitting before the finish line. If you would like to experience the power of coaching for yourself, contact me for a complimentary telephone coaching session.
In June, we've had two special FREE Teleclasses, each with very special guest speakers. I hope you have enjoyed these classes and got lots of ideas about planning for an engaging summer for your teens as well as shaping up for higher energy and better long-term health. You can visit the Teleclass Archives to listen to the recording of the Feature Teleclass.
The current Feature Teleclass is "Unleash the Full Potential of Your Lifestyle -- to lose weight, look great and gain the energy you need to succeed!" My guest speaker John Allen Mollenhauer, aka "JAM", founder of Performance Lifestyle System, shared his inspiring personal journey from an over-weight, burned out entrepreneur, to a fit & healthy, high-energy powerhouse that he is today, as well as many insights and tips on diets, exercise, weight loss, energy management and lifestyle change for long-term health. His knowledge and passion for these topics clearly came through in his presentation. I encourage you to listen to the recording of this Teleclass while it's still available.

"Why Are You So Stressed? Tips and Techniques For A Stress-free Life"
Chronic stress is linked to increased risks for many health issues and major diseases, for example, heart disease, hypertension, type-2 diabetes, neck or back pain, gastrointestinal problems, obesity, eating disorder, insomnia, just to name a few. It also has negative impacts on your relationships, work, and emotional well-being.
Nowadays, almost everybody is stressed. Should we just give up and accept that being stressed (and all the consequences that follow) is part of "normal" modern life? Of course not!!!
Our guest speaker Dr. Maria Moratto, founder of Prescription for Bliss, will show you various proven techniques for a stress-free life.

* NEW Service: DiSC Personality Profile *
Back in April when I gave the Teleclass Changing Lanes: the Secret of Successful Midlife Career Change, I mentioned some personality assessments that could help you determine your strenths, weaknesses, and the ideal careers for you. One of the assessments I included was DiSC Personality Profile. I am pleased to announce that I have added this powerful assessment to my service.
DiSC is the four quadrant behavioral model based on the work of William Moulton Marston Ph.D. (1893 - 1947) to examine the behavior of individuals in their environment or within a specific situation. Behavioral styles are grouped in four categories: Dominance, influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness. Organizations worldwide have embraced the language of DiSC, pioneered by Inscape Publishing over 30 years ago. Millions of people have gained insight about themselves and others through DiSC Personality Profile. It's a powerful assessment to help you figure out the right career choices, or improve interpersonal communication & relationships.
What's included:
- Online DiSC Classic Profile 2.0 -- you take this assessment online, at your own convenience
- Detailed report -- you will receive your report via email and print it out for your records (email me to request a sample report)
- Debriefing Session -- 60-minute telephone debriefing session with me to go over your report
- Your Investment: Regularly $197, Subscriber Special $97 (promotional price valid until 7-15-2007, subscribe to my monthly newsletter to receive your Subscriber Coupon Code)

2. Feature Article: Practice Detached Involvement
Parenting is one "risky business" with very unpredictable ROI. It could potentially leave you in tremendous emotional pain and/or financial ruin. I'm sure you have seen or known many great parents with terrible children (and vice versa). So, what's a parent to do? I learned this lesson back in my RN days when I was taking care of terminal cancer patients. This is a critical skill for all parents, as well as health care professionals, social workers, therapists, business owners, etc.Read the full article

6. Just for Fun
My son's 3rd grade teacher gave him a fun book called "99 1/2 Summer Jokes with Attitude" by Holly Kowitt. Here are a few jokes from the book:
Why did King Arthur buy an air conditioner?
For those hot summer knights.
What did the lawn say to the sprinkler?
"Say it, don't spray it!"
What keeps a summer rock concert cool?
Thousands of fans!
Where can you see lifeguards dance?
At a beach ball.
Why did the hacker buy a Boogie board?
He wanted to surf the Net.
