Essential Oils Teleclass - Additional Resource
We had a fabulous Essential Oils Teleclass (part I) today with guest speakers Nancy Orlen Weber, RN and Christina Santiago.

Nancy and Christina shared the science & facts about Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils, how to choose the right kind of oils, which oils to use for specific conditions (such as ADD/ADHD, asthma, burn, hearing problem, emotional trauma, cancer), as well as their own healing stories.

Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils are a great tool for Intensive Self-Care, because they take care of all 3 aspects of Intensive Self-Care - physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

I will send you the link to listen to the Teleclass recording, as soon as I have it on my website.

In the meantime, here are the additional resources that Nancy mentioned on the call.

If you are a mom, you've got to watch this!!! Several of my mom friends sent this to me. OMG, I laughed, and laughed, until tears came out!!! Hey, some say a good belly laugh equals crunches. This definitely counts -- all 2 minutes and 55 seconds of it! LOL!

Beyond Stress Relief - LAST CALL for Friday's Teleclass
If you're like most people, you are always looking for tools and solutions for stress relief. Personally, I like the multi-sensory approach to relieve stress, that is, engaging more than one senses (feeling, smelling, hearing, seeing, etc) in stress-relieving activities. For example, meditating with healing music, while using Essential Oils (either applied on pulse points, inhale, or using an Essentia Oils Diffuser to fill the entire room with aroma).

Yes, Essential Oils are great for stress relief. However, you may or may not know that they can do so much MORE than stress relief.

There are many grades of Essential Oils. The Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils, as their name implies, have therapeutic effects for many physical and medical conditions. Some oils also have "metaphysical properties" that can raise your vibrational frequency, and positively change your thoughts, emotions and mindset. (Scroll down to read more details about the class and my two very special guest speakers)

I hope you will be able to join this Teleclass on Friday! I have received many great questions about the Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils, and my guest speakers will try to answer all of them during the Teleclass.

Both Teleclasses are F.REE, but you do need to register to receive your conference call Bridgeline & Access Number.

======================================

As I shared in my September E-zine, I just went through quite a health scare this summer. On my quest to heal myself, I came across two amazing healers, Nancy Orlen Weber, RN and Christina M. Santiago, who introduced me to the healing power of Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.

Mind you, these are NOT the regular Essential Oils that we associate with massage oils and bath products. The Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils (as regulated in Europe) have been well-studied by medical researchers all over the world, and proven to have therapeutic effects on many physical and medical conditions.

As a former RN myself, I like to see scientic "proof". The more studies I read, the more amazed I am about the healing power of Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils. I also bought an Essential Oils Desk Reference, which is basically an encyclopedia of Essential Oils, and it lists in details how to use specific oils to relieve physical & medical conditions. I have been using an Essential Oils regimen daily for myself, and for my family.

To get the kind of Essential Oils I use, visit TrueHealingOils.com.

Besides the physical health benefits, some Essential Oils have metaphysical properties that can raise your vibrational level, and thus POSITIVELY affect your thoughts, feelings, and mindset. If you have heard of Law of Attraction, you know that we are energy beings. Metaphysical Essential Oils can raise your vibration, and help you release past hurt emotions, relieve stress & anxiety, attract abundance, improve mental focus & clarity, overcome limiting beliefs, etc. I also incorporate Essential Oils in coaching my clients, when I think they can benefit from it.

If you are intrigued or curious about what I've just shared, you definitely want to sign up for this 2-part Teleclass series!

I'm very honored to have both Nancy Orlen Weber, RN, and Christina M. Santiago as my guest speakers. Both are amazing healers, and both have a wealth of knowledge, experience and incredible healing stories to share with you. And, they are so graciously offering these two classes at NO COST to you!

I hope you take advantage of this incredible opportunity to learn from them. To read about their full bio and to register for these two classes, visit

==> www.beyondhorizoncoaching.com/eoteleclass.html

By the way, I just want to mention that, Nancy's life journey is in itself an amazing story. Besides being an RN, she is also an author, medical intuitive, and psychic detective (she received a police badge in 1982). She has been featured on many national TV channels, including Discovery, A&E, TLC, Court TV, Biography Channel, etc. It's an incredible experience to meet and learn from her. You wouldn't want to miss out!

Deadly Conversations
Do you know the type of people who always manage to find faults in everyone or every situation? The type that always sees the glass as half-empty? Whatever conversation you engage with them, they would turn it into a "Who's Got It Worse" competition, and, they are determined to win. They are eager to tell you that they are "just not as lucky" or "not as good (smart, pretty)" as others. Every conversation almost always turns into a "Poor Me" whining session.

Got the picture? These are negative people, and I'm sure you've come across (or even lived with) at least a couple of them.

As if it's not bad enough that they are negative and insecure about themselves, I think the worst part is, they never hesitate to tell you that dreams don't come true (especially yours).

If you have experienced interacting with such negative people, you know how morale-deflating, emotionally draining, and migraine-inducing it is to talk with them. Over the years, I have learned that, negative (or "toxic") people and the negative energy they bring are detrimental to both physical and emotional well-being. If you are chronically surrounded by such negative energy from toxic relationships, it could literally make you ill. The stress from dealing with negative people can cause many physical and emotional problems, and increase your risks of getting major diseases such as heart disease, stroke, hypertension, to name a few. That is why I set an intention to conscisouly avoid or minimize negative relationships in my personal and professional life.

I've always stressed the importance of choosing who you share your dreams and goals with, and building your own success team. It's extremely important to choose only those who believe in you and will support you in your endeavors. Joining a mastermind group (or starting one) is a great way to build your support network that will cheer you on, offer resources and sound advice when you most need it.

It seems obvious that you wouldn't want any negative people in your mastermind group, because it would totally defeat the purpose. If you are starting a new mastermind group, make sure you pay special attention when you interview potential candidates. Be wary of people who speak negatively about others and/or about themselves, and people who generally complain a lot. That's a red flag.

When you join an exsisting mastermind group, you might not be able to choose who belong to the group, but after a while you can definitely pick out the whiners and the toxic people in the group. A couple years ago I belonged to a mastermind group of business owners and a good part of us were new start-ups then. At every meeting we shared our progress and challenges in our businesses, and asked the group to hold us accountable for what we would commit to do before our next meeting. Every month some of us had great news to share, while others might've had a challenging month, which is completely normal.

However, there was one member who seemed to be very insecure about herself and her business. Since we are both professional coaches, we became friendly with each other. Sometimes after the meeting we'd chat, and she would say with envy about how everyone was doing so great, and she felt like she was the only one who fell behind. Then she would proceed to blame it on her lack of education compared to others (which is not true), and that it's simply impossible to make a living as a professional coach (not true, either). I ended up having to coach her right on the spot and trying to boost up her self-confidence. When I shared with her my new project ideas, she often said it sounded great but it probably wouldn't work. Let me tell you, it was extremely draining and depressing talking with her. Being a new coach and new business owner myself, her negative attitude and comments were simply more than I could take. After a few more interactions like that, I learned my lesson and stayed away from her. Eventually she left the group on her own, which was a relief for all of us.

I refer to the kind of conversations I had with this coach as "Deadly Conversations". No, they do not kill you (at least not right away), but they can easily kill your spirit, hopes and dreams. What are we without our hopes and dreams? That's why I think toxic conversations and toxic people are deadly. If you cannot avoid such people completely, try to avoid engaging them in conversations whenever possible. Better yet, make a conscious effort to build a sound support network or a mastermind group that truly believes and supports you in achieving your dreams.

P.S. My old PC has been giving me a lot of problems in the past two months, and finally I had to replace it. I was told that some people never received my emails. If you have sent me an email or request in the past two months, and never received my reply, that's probably because I never received it. If that's the case, could you please send your question or request again? Thank you! I apologize for the inconvenience.

The Way to Bring Peace to All
Just received this quote by Dalai Lama. It's so fitting for today, isn't it?

"It is time to fill the world with strong and powerful deeds. It is common knowledge that no great captain in the world has ever destroyed all of his enemies and lived with a sense of satisfaction. If one enemy is killed, two more will appear. It is important we cultivate love and compassion to all the sentient beings which is the way to bring peace to all."

Reflections on September 11th
Here we are again on the anniversary of September 11th. This is one of those historic events you will never forget. In fact, you can probably vividly remember where you were and what you were doing, when you heard (or even witnessed) the attack on the Twin Towers. How was your life back then? What were your hopes and dreams? How has your life changed (and how have YOU changed) since that fateful day?

I hope you take a moment to remember all who perished that day. Send a silent prayer to those families who were affected. Then, take a moment to count your blessings.

I've always said that gratitude is the shortcut to joy. Just thinking about the blessings in your life brightens your mood instantly. Expressing and sending your gratitude to the Universe also raises your vibrational energy, and the energy of those around you.

What are you grateful for? Maybe your health, family, friends, career or business. Maybe your freedom. Or maybe just the fact that you are alive and well. I certainly have a lot to be grateful for -- a loving family, supportive friends, a career that allows me to share my creativity and gift with the world while changing lives at the same time, etc. After going through a recent health scare, I have even more to be grateful for. I'm so thankful for my health, and for everyone around me who had offered me prayers, healing energy, and friendships in the past two months. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

What if you are going through a rough patch in your life? What if you simply cannot find the "bright side"? They say "Pain is inevitable; suffering is not". No matter what happened in your life, it's up to YOU to decide how you feel about it, and how you respond to it. It's a conscious choice you have to make. Chinese people believe that in every crisis exists both danger and opportunity. There are often blessings in disguise, if you look for them. Change your perspective, and you will change your emotions & behavior, and as a result, change your life for the better.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself:
  • What opportunities or blessings can I find in this situation?
  • What lessons do I need to learn from this?
  • In what way can this experience help me grow as a person?
  • How can I look at this situation from a more positive perspective?
  • What can I do differently?
  • If I could choose to look at this situation from a position of empowerment, what would that be?

Another way to help you consciously focus your attention on gratitude is an exercise called "Top 3 Things". As you go through you day, keep a mental list of 3 best things that happen to you that day. If something better happens, replace one of the 3 items on your list. Keep updating your mental list throughout the day. This will gently force your conscious mind to focus on the good things, instead of the bad things that happen. You can also keep a written list, if you prefer. Review your list at the end of the day. If you keep a journal, you can transfer your Top 3 Things to your journal. It will give you a visual reminder of all the good things that happen to you on that day.

Give it a try. I'd love to hear how it works for you!

Sending you blessings,
Hueina

Let Meditation Smooth The Storms Of Anxiety
by Jack Brooks - www.anxietyreliefpro.com

Our world has taken a quantum leap in complexity, rapidity, and unpredictability. Functioning in whatever role you currently have, be it student or teacher, parent or child, worker or retiree, and any in between these takes more focus, more energy, demands more time, and requires more attention just to achieve the same results as last year. While today’s pharmacopeia offers a seemingly endless supply of mind-altering pills for medically treating an anxious mind, when we’re just plain feeling overwhelmed, a more holistic solution is called for, and meditation fills the bill nicely. Eastern techniques of “inner work” are now acceptable, having come out of the esoteric world of Indian yogis to the gyms, spas, and seminar rooms of America. Now, our media “gurus” tout the therapeutic value of a quieted mind for general health benefits and specifically, stress relief. Let’s see how this age-old practice can be applied to coping with today’s frenetic life challenges.

Let Stillness Bring Relief

At first glance it seems necessary for us to think, think, think to complete our many daily tasks - to stop our chaotic thoughts, so eloquently (and aptly) referred to as the “drunken monkey” by experienced meditators, for even a moment seems difficult, if not impossible. Yet many thousands do it by using focusing techniques to channel their mental energy in a “one-pointed” direction. One of the most widely used is breath witnessing. For a beginning student, this practice, as in most meditation sessions, entails seating yourself in as quiet and undisturbed a setting as possible, in an upright yet relaxed posture with the spine straight and arms folded in your lap. Using a quiet timer set for 20 minutes (a reasonable practice period for beginners), close your eyes, breathe slowly in through the nostrils, pause, then exhale slowly out, paying attention to the soft sigh of the inbreath and the gentle “whoosh” of your exhalation. Be aware of the stillness during the pause between these; yogic sages say this brief conscious interlude is when self-enlightenment becomes most accessible.

The first time you spend practicing meditation, if you’re like most busy folks, will seem as if there’s a clamoring crowd in your head, all vying for attention with raucous chatter and frantic nattering. You’ll probably wonder, “how will I ever shut them up???” The secret is to persist in listening to your quiet breathing, feeling the cool air coming in and the warmer air going out. Just let your thoughts go on chattering, like magpies in a Maple tree. Continue to breathe in, pause, breathe out, over and over. Soon, you’ll begin to feel them become a background, like static on the radio, as you breathe in, pause, breathe out. They’ll recede and start floating off, like Fall Oak leaves on a quiet pond, falling then drifting away, carried by the soft breeze of your breath. As you develop your meditative ability, you’ll feel yourself sinking into that peaceful pond, into its still, soothing depths of tranquility. Each time, your mind will quiet sooner, you’ll go a little deeper and gain more peace and mental refreshment.

Using Effective Meditation Techniques

Breath Witnessing is only one of a variety of approaches to meditation. Many meditators use a mantra, which is a word or phrase, repeated verbally or silently in the mind, to serve as an object of mental focus. Some of the more well-known ones are Christian prayers, such as the Hail Mary prayer, and the Tibetan Buddhist chant, Om Mani Padma Hum. You can adapt any philosophical or spiritual phrase or affirmation to fulfill this function; many use their favorite one as a goal setting affirmation. Perhaps you recall Dale Carnegie’s famous mantra, “Every Day, In Every Way, I’m Getting Better and Better!” In fact, there exist entire schools of meditative Yoga with specific mantras and techniques for reaching deeper stages of dissociation from day-to-day consciousness and moving into more extensive depths. These are widely available if you wish to explore more deeply or follow an extended meditative program.

The advantages to meditation are many: minimal expense and flexibility in scheduling your sessions are just a few. How often can you gain physical and mental benefits without doctors, clinics, therapists and medicines? Actually, all that is a prerequisite is your willingness and persistence to seek a quiet place and devote a little time to beginning a new and healthful practice. After all, like the old song says. “The Best Things In Life Are Free……….”

Fast Track to Calm: Tao of the Unhurried Way
Copyright 2007 Hueina Su, Beyond Horizon Coaching

Does your life look like a race car running at cut-throat speed and, to your horror, the brakes are broken? Do you feel like you are perpetually in a hurry, even when you are not in a hurry to go anywhere? Do you feel like all the items on your to-do list are dancing around in your head, and you can't seem to concentrate on any of them? Do you run around like a chicken without a head all day, and still feel like you will never "catch up"? Has it occurred to you that you have forgotten how to relax?

You are not alone.

Many of my coaching clients came to me, all frazzled and stressed, brimming with anxiety that they will never get it all done, or get it done the "right" way. They wanted to learn how to manage their stress, and create some balance in their lives, but they simply did not know how to relax. You'd be surprised how many people draw a complete blank, when I ask them what they do for fun, or what relaxes them. It's so sad that they have become so disconnected from themselves. A client once told me that even when she was at the spa, she could not totally relax, because half way through her massage she was already thinking about what she had to get done after the spa.

Addicted to Speed

With so much to do, and so little time, how do you deal?

Many people told me they tried to become more efficient so they could squeeze in more tasks in a day. Some proudly told me that they thrive on stress under deadlines. Can you relate to this?

What you may not realize is that, you have been running on adrenaline. When we are under stress (either physical or emotional), it triggers the fight-or-flight response in our body, which is then flushed with adrenaline to help us deal with the "crisis" at hand. Adrenaline is like caffeine that pumps us up with extra energy and alertness. It's referred to as adrenaline rush because it's highly addictive. You feel so much more productive and on top of everything. However, just like how caffeine affects our body, once the adrenaline rush is over, you'd experience a "crash" afterwards.

Some people try to stay in that "rush", so they wouldn't experience the "crash". The problem is, when you are running on adrenaline, your body is filled with stress hormone cortisol. Research has repeatedly linked chronic stress and cortisol to increased risks of heart disease, hypertension, weight gain, sleep disorder, etc. In other words, unchecked chronic stress can wreck havoc on your health.

Haste Makes Waste

There is a Chinese saying that's similar to "Haste makes waste". The fastest way is not necessarily the best way to get you where you want to go. Sometimes, when you try to rush somewhere, you end up not arriving at all.

When people asked me how to reduce stress quickly, I'd tell them to take a deep breath and slow down. Sounds very counter-intuitive, but, the fastest way to restore inner peace is to slow down. Slow w-a-y down.

Here are some ideas to help you practice what I call Tao of the Unhurried Way.

Watch Your Breathing

Research shows that when you focus all of your attention on one thing, your heart rate slows down and blood pressure is lower too. The easiest way to achieve this is to observe your breathing. We tend to hold our breath or breathe shallowly when we are stressed. When you find yourself tensed or holding your breath, take a few deep breaths. Then breathe normally for a minute or two, while focusing your attention entirely on breathing in and out. Your mind would probably try to interrupt you with all kinds of ideas and thoughts. When you notice a thought, just observe it, without judging it, and let it go. Return to observe your breathing.

This is a basic relaxation technique and the beginner level of meditation. Sounds simple, but it's not easy to do. We are so used to running and doing stuff all the time that most people have forgotten why we are called human "being", not human "doing". If you have difficulty focusing at the beginning, don't worry. Start with 1-3 minutes, and work up to 30 minutes if you can.

Practice Mindfulness

Years ago, a friend introduced me to Jon Kabat-Zinn and Thich Nhat Hanh's books on Mindfulness Meditation, and I fell in love with their work. Mindfulness is considered the heart of Buddhist meditation. According to Jon Kabat-Zinn, mindfulness is moment-to-moment, non-judgmental, awareness. It's a tool to bridge the gap between doing and being, and bring us back to here-and-now.

Our mind is often on auto-pilot, and we are not fully "awake" at the present moment. You might be physically here, but your mind is completely somewhere else. Without mindfulness, we are not fully present in our own lives, and in our relationships with others.

To demonstrate mindfulness, Jon Kabat-Zinn asked his stress-reduction program participants how they eat raisins. Most people eat them by the handful. I'm sure you do too. However, he asked the participants to eat one single raisin, and really experience the full flavor and texture of a raisin. I tried that, and it opened my eyes. Now when I need a reminder of mindfulness, I'd take a raisin, or a very small piece of dark chocolate, and eat it as slowly as I can.

You can practice mindfulness meditation anytime, anywhere, in everything you do. Whether you are eating, reading, washing dishes, walking the dog, or pumping irons at the gym, try focusing 100% of your attention on what you are doing. Then, everything you do would be a mindfulness meditation. Needless to say, if your goal is relaxation and inner peace, multi-tasking is not the way to go.

Stop Speed-Eating

Even if you are not interested in practicing mindfulness, you should really slow down when you eat. Eating on the run produces anxiety and stress, which interferes with digestion. Studies show that when people eat fast, they tend to over-eat. That's because when you eat fast, your brain does not have enough time to register that you are already full, and that you should stop eating. As a result of stress (remember that cortisol contributes to weight gain) and over-eating, you'd end up gaining weight.

A recent WebMD article lists speed-eating as the No. 1 diet mistake (skipping meals is No. 2 on the list). Another study showed that when you sit down to eat a snack, you are less tempted to eat other snacks later on. It seems like when we are "eating on the go", our brain often doesn't register how full we are. Another reason to practice "mindful eating", instead of "speed eating".

So, try to sit down, and savor your food. If you don't have time to sit down and relax at every meal, at least make a conscious effort to eat one meal in peace every day. Unplug the phone, TV, computer and your Blackberry. Be fully present and eat in peace.

Allow Enough Time

In our over-scheduled, always-rushing life style, we often under-estimate how much time each task takes, or over-estimate how much we can get done in the amount of time we have. As a result, you are always running late and stressed out. When you schedule your appointments, try to allow 1.5 times of your original estimated time. Also, allow enough travel time between appointments. That way, if you hit traffic, you won't go crazy.

How about the transition between work and home? How often do you rush home and, without taking a break, jump right in to your "other job" at home? It's important to allow yourself enough time and space to make that transition. Perhaps you can take a walk, visit a cafe or book store, or go to the gym, before heading home. I know someone who would drive around the block, or sit in the car on his own driveway for a few minutes, until he is ready to re-join the rest of the family. Believe me, you will feel much calmer when you walk in the door.

Clear the Way for Calm

In order to slow down and have enough time, you need to de-clutter your home and your schedule. An organized home gives you a sense of serenity and provides a safe haven for you to relax and recharge. On the other hand, to cut down tasks on your schedule, you need to say no and set good boundaries.

Take an honest look at your schedule and commitments. How many of those do you really enjoy? How many of those can be done by someone else? Do you take on more commitments because you want to, or because you think you should? Or, perhaps you take them on just because you don't know how to say no? Protect your time like it's the most valuable asset you have. Since we all have 24 hours a day, when you say yes to something, you are saying no to something else. So choose carefully. What would you rather be doing?

Take Time for You

Last but not least, take time for you. Most people don't realize they are over-extending themselves and heading toward burnout. The truth is, you might not realize it, unless you can slow down enough to see your reality. Some clients came to that realization during our coaching sessions, after examining their schedules, values and priorities. Some told me that everything they did was all related to their responsibilities at work and at home, and they have not done anything just for themselves. They almost forgot what they used to do just for fun.

If you can relate to this, it's time for some Intensive Self-Care! Make a conscious choice to put self-care as a top priority. After all, if you don't nurture yourself, you won't have any more to give.

Schedule "Me Time" on a daily, or at least weekly, basis. Do something good for yourself every day. It could be something small, like buying yourself some fresh flowers, or spending half an hour reading, or taking a bubble bath. Or, it could be something big, like a spa day or girls night out. Do whatever pleases you. You deserve it.

Take time for you, and take the time to do what you enjoy. Savor every moment. Be fully present. Then you'll be on the fast track to true peace and calm.

Waiting to Exhale
Two months ago, I went for my annual physical. I felt perfectly fine, except some vague symptoms that could be explained in many ways. Nothing to worry about, I thought, until I got the reports from my doctor and the hospital, urging me to do more tests.

Let me tell you, having several doctors inform you, within a week, that they found "something" in both your breasts and ovaries, is NOT something that would make you jump for joy. That much I'm sure.

All of a sudden, I went from planning for relaxing summer getaways, to planning doctor's appointments and medical tests. I was in shock, trying hard not to think about the worse case scenario. Fortunately, the RN in me remained calm and efficient. I got busy researching options, talking to doctors, nurses, and scheduling all the necessary tests.

In the meantime, my children were off for summer vacation. Because of the sensitivity of the matter, I didn't share much information with them. In the beginning, I didn't tell my parents, either. The last thing I need is to trigger panic in everyone around me, which would only add to my emotional burden.

Instead, I reached out to several friends who I knew could "handle" this news, gave me the support and some assurance I desperately needed. The Universe responded to my intention, and sent several people my way who had been through either breast cancer or ovarian cancer, or could point me to the right direction for resources.

Crisis or Blessings in Disguise

I believe that with every crisis, there are always opportunities, blessings in disguise, or lessons to be learned. In fact, the Chinese word of "crisis" is made up of two characters -- "danger" and "opportunity". I believe that there are no accidents. Everything happens for a reason, and it's always for my best interest, even though it might not look that way at all. I had to look deep inside, trying to figure out the blessings and the lessons for me.

When I need guidance, sometimes I like to ask a question then randomly open a book to read what's on that page. Sometimes I like to draw from a deck of Goddess cards (The Moon Goddess Oracle Deck) that my friend Terri gave me. And sometimes, I would randomly turn the wheel on my iPod to see which chapter of Dr. Wayne Dyer's The Power of Intention shows up. Doing one of these things almost always brings me exactly the message I need to hear. This time, the message I got from the Goddess cards was "Just Be" (You are the essence of love and light just by being you), and "Initiation" (Find power, joy and comfort in the change that is seeking you). Dr. Wayne Dyer reassured me that it's OK to "somersault into the unknown" and to trust that all is well.

Heal Yourself First

It wasn't hard for me to realize that, my body was sending me a message that I must SLOW DOWN. I had been working very hard on my business in the past few months. Even though I'm truly passionate about coaching, and it's been very rewarding to be able to make a difference in other's lives through coaching, writing and speaking, I realized now that I was working a little too hard. I told my coach that my body was throwing out all these symptoms to try to slow me down, which was pretty funny when you think about how our body "talks". When your body talks to you, whether it's whispering or yelling, please, listen carefully, and heed its advice.

That's exactly what I did. I decided to take off most of July and August, cancel Teleclass, business meetings and monthly e-zine for August, take a much-needed family vacation, and focus on healing myself. What good will I do for my family, friends, and clients, if I'm not healthy, happy, and operating at 100% capacity? I need to walk the talk, and as the African proverb says, I need to heal myself first, before I can heal others.

By the way, if you are worried about your health, or have unexplained symptoms, please, take the initiative to talk to your doctor and request the test necessary. When it comes to health, it's always better safe than sorry. Believe me, it's MUCH harder to deal with the unknown. When I was a nurse, I worked with a lot of terminal cancer patients. Back then in my country, it was very common for the family to conceal the cancer diagnosis or prognosis from the patient. As a result, many patients had no control in their own treatment or how they wish to live their last days. It was simply heart-breaking to watch. You must be an advocate for yourself, and take the responsibility for your own health.

Transformation

Speaking of change that is "seeking" me, a few days after the first test result came back, my husband and I took our children to the beach. The ocean always calms me down, and I needed to sort through my emotions and thoughts. While I was sitting on the beach, contently watching the children, the clouds and the waves, a beautiful black and orange butterfly (not sure if it was a Monarch butterfly) flew by. It circled a few times, and then came to "sit" next to me on my beach towel, just about 3 inches away from me. "Hey butterfly", I silently acknowledged my surprise companion. I know butterflies symbolize transformation. I thought to myself, "How fitting that this butterfly showed up by my side". Amazingly, the butterfly stayed with me for more than 10 or 15 minutes. It reminds me of the Monarch butterfy that stayed with Dr. Wayne Dyer for hours, as told in his book Inspiration. He was convinced that, that particular Monarch butterfly was the reincarnation of his good friend Jack, who was crazy about Monarch butterflies. I wonder, which of my old friends or family was this butterfly that sat with me on the beach?

Helping Hands

They say when it rains, it pours. Two weeks after I had my physical, I had a heat stroke while taking the Tai Chi Sword class outdoors on a hot and humid day. When I mentioned this to my newsletter subscribers, emails and phone calls poured in, wishing me well, suggesting various alternative treatments, offering prayers and healing sessions for me. I feel truly blessed and loved to have all these wonderful people surrounding me, and helping me on my quest to healing myself. To all of my friends who have extended a helping hand, I will forever be grateful for everything you have done for me.

Among the people that helped me in this process, I especially appreciate Christina Santiago & Nancy Orlan Weber RN who introduced me to Young Living Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils, Bonny O'Mullane who did The Journey meditation with me, and Leigh Anne Sommers who offered me prayers and healing sessions.

Christina and I met at a networking meeting a while ago and she told me how the Young Living essential oils helped her husband recover from a medical condition that even top neurologists couldn't solve. I was intrigued, but didn't think I needed the oils. You know, being a former RN from a family with 4 generations of doctors, nurses and dentists, my training and upbringing are firmly rooted in western medicine. Up until this summer, I had not explored or experienced alternative medicine, besides Chinese herbs that were a part of our diet growing up. For some reason, when I was at the hospital, waiting for my breast biopsy, I thought of Christina and her husband's story. I can only said it was a divine intervention, because the radiologist decided against performing a biopsy on me, after examining me by ultrasound. There were too many blood vessels surrounding the nodule, and the doctor didn't want to risk puncturing them. In a way, I was spared (I ended up getting a breast MRI instead). Here's why I said it was a divine intervention: when I drove home from the hospital, there was a voice mail from Christina!!! She was just checking in to say hi. I called her back immediately, telling her my situation, and asked "Are there any oils that could help me?" She then took me to her good friend & mentor Nancy Orlan Weber RN, who educated me about the essential oils and gave me a protocol to use. I had to make changes in my diet as well as personal care & household cleaning products that contain harmful chemicals that are stressing my body and endangering my health. The Young Living essential oils helped me nurture and heal my body, heart and soul. If you have not experienced the amazing effects of therapeutic-grade essential oil, I suggest you give it a try.

Bonny is a dear friend and fellow Certified Empowerment Coach. She has always said that she felt an instant, deep connection with me, ever since we first met a few years ago through another coach. Highly intuitive and compassionate, Bonny was just the right person to help me with The Journey, which helped me heal some of the physical symptoms that were caused by past emotional traumas.

Then, there's Leigh Anne, a powerful mystic who lives on Vancouver Island, Canada. How we met was purely serendipity. I would never have met her, if she did not find me first. I believe we have most likely met in our previous lives. Leigh Anne came to me for coaching about a year ago, and we later became friends. She came to my Teleclass series this May to present her "Awaken The Goddess Within" class. The energy field was so strong during the Teleclass that it shut down the Bridgeline recording!

When I mentioned to Leigh Anne what I was going through, she graciously offered her prayers and several healing sessions over the phone. Leigh Anne even asked her other Goddess friends to look out for me, and their insights really helped. At first I was a little skeptical about energy healing over the phone, but it was the most amazing experience. Even though we were so far apart (I'm in New Jersey, and she on Vancouver Island), over the phone, I could feel her "physically" touching me and massaging my back. Trained in the traditional western medicine, I knew very little about alternative medicine and energy healing, until I experienced acupuncture last year. Now I know how it feels when energy or Qi is working through my body. Still, I have never experienced what Leigh Anne did to me.

One night I was all stressed out, worried about the worst case scenerio, Leigh Anne did a "toning session" with me, during which I was completely overwhelmed by the unconditional love I felt, through my heart and my body. My whole body was vibrating. I was almost in tears -- tears of joy. I felt a very strong sense of knowing that I am loved, and I will be fine. All is well in my world. Amazingly, after that, I no longer feel fear about my test results. For some reason, I simply don't feel worried about that any more.

I am so grateful to have these loving souls and amazing healers around me!!!

Higher Purpose

My friend Gary told me that, people with a strong sense of life purpose and mission are less likely to "leave the world", because their souls would choose to stay in order to finish their work. I joked to Leigh Anne that I guess I will stick around for a little longer, because I have a very strong sense of my purpose, and I know my work is not done here. She said, "You are right, you are just getting started girl!!!" And we both laughed.

Having the belief in my higher purpose and knowing my work is not done, gives me a great sense of comfort. I feel safe knowing that the Universe will support me in doing my work for the greater good of everyone involved. I've learned to have faith and "trust the process", and believe that whatever comes my way is meant to help me grow into the person I am meant to be. I have to stay in the present, listen to my authentic self, be open to guidance and the transformation I am going through. I need to let go (big time), and just BE.

All is Well

After two months of dealing with the unknown, my last test result finally came back. I was cleared from any cancer. Whew!

I can finally take a deep breath and let it ALL out.... Ah, life is good! All is well in my world.

All is well.
