FREE Teleclass: Communication with Teenagers

Teleclass Title

What in the world are you talking about?

If you have a pre-teen or teenager at home, chances are, you've probably experienced some challenges of communicating with your child. You love your child dearly, but, sometimes you just don't know how to get through to him/her. You used to be so close, but now your child wants nothing to do with you (at least it appears that way). You used to be all-knowing and wise in your child's eyes, and now your opinions are far less important than his/her friends' or whatever the media says. Sometimes you feel like you're talking to a brick wall -- you don't even know if your child heard you or not. You feel like you're stuck in endless power struggles, but don't know how to stop.

Where's love? Isn't there any hope for a civil conversation with your teen?

Well, there is.

My guest speaker Randy Nathan, MSW, CEC (aka Coach Randy), owner of Your Personal Coach and creator of the LEAP Program, is a personal empowerment coach who specializes in coaching teens and young adults. He has more than 20 years of experience working with teens.

In this Teleclass you will learn:

  • the importance of clear and concise communication
  • how to overcome the obstacles and resistance in communicating with your child
  • how to improve your communication skills in order to be heard by your child
  • how to really “hear” what your teenager is saying
  • how to develop skills, negotiate and reinforce the love you have for each other.

Teleclass Schedule:
Date: Friday, January 25, 2008

Time: 12:00pm - 1:00pm Eastern (New York) time

To convert to your local time, click here

Cost: FREE, but you must register to receive the conference call number & Access Code

Recording will be available for those who register for this Teleclass. If you are interested but cannot attend the live class, please sign up anyway.

Metaphysical Essential Oils for Emotional Healing and Personal Success
TrueHealingOils.com Young Living Essential OilsDo you know that essential oils (usually referred to as aromatherapy oils) can do more than calming your nerve and relaxing your body?

The essential oil of each plant has a distinct property and use. Some essential oils are considered metaphysical essential oils. They can raise your vibrational frequency and alter your emotional state. They are effective tools in managing emotional stress & anxiety, releasing past trauma, anger & fears, uplifting your spirit, empowering you into action, sharpening mental focus, attracting more abundance, etc.

Because of these effects, I've found essential oils an effective tool in helping my life coaching clients overcome emotional blocks, so they can get un-stuck and move forward (Check out my life coaching site for your FREE Intensive Self-Care Kit).

It's worth noting that the essential oils are a productivity and peak performance tool that's overlooked by most people and largely unknown to the Corporate America.
I've started incorporating some essential oils (such as Clarity, Peppermint) in my training workshops to help my audience stay alert and mentally focused during training. For stress management workshops, Peace & Calming and Lavender are top choices.

When choosing essential oils, it's important to choose high-quality, therapeutic-grade essential oils. The perfume-grade essential oils that you normally see at Bath & Bodyworks or health food stores only contain 5-10% essential oils, which means the other 90-95% are chemicals & synthetics. The Young Living Essential Oils, on the other hand, are 100% pure therapeutic-grade essential oils. Their single oils carry the nutritional value labels, which means they can be ingested, inhaled, as well as applied directly on skin. Which would you rather put in your body -- pure essential oils or the chemicals?

Here are metaphysical and medicinal uses for some essential oils. You can find these Young Living Essential Oils on my website True Healing Oils.

Metaphysical Oil Blends:

Abundance - Enhances the frequency of the harmonic magnetic energy field that surrounds us. This higher frequency creates what is called the Law of Attraction, which helps you overcome "undeserving" mentality and attract more abundance in life. Apply to heart chakra for love, crown chakra for spiritual connection, throat for self-expression, kidney area for wealth, or diffuse in office & home.

Acceptance - Stimulates the mind to promote feelings of accepting ourselves and others, regardless of perceived barriers. This blend also helps overcome procrastination and denial.

Awaken - Helps bring about inner awareness and awakening. True understanding of one's self is the first step toward making successful changes and desirable transitions. This blend may help you progress toward your highest potential.

Believe - This blend has a steadying, balancing effect on emotions, providing feelings of strengths & faith, helping you overcome feelings of despair and move beyond them to a higher level of awareness. It helps release the unlimited potential everyone possesses, making it possible to experience health, happiness and vitality more fully.

Highest Potential - Increases your capacity to achieve your highest potential. Apply to crown chakra and third eye (forehead). By the way, world-renowned medical intuitive & psychic detective Nancy Orlen Weber (as seen on Discovery, Biography and Court TV) used this oil to overcome her unentitlement mentality and tripled her income in one month (listen to her story first-hand in this FREE Teleclass on Metaphysical Essential Oils for Personal Success).

Clarity - Enhances mental clarity & alertness, combat fatigue, provides more oxygen to your brain. Good for anyone who desires higher productivity, and those with ADD/ADHD (use it along with Brain Power and Peace & Calming)

Motivation - Helps you overcome procrastination & fears, while stimulating feelings of action and accomplishment. It enhances the ability to get unstuck and move forward in a positive direction.

Present Time - An empowering blend that heightens the sense of being "in the moment". Concentrating on the past can be counterproductive. You can go forward and progress when you can focus on the present time.

Envision - Stimulates creativity and resourcefulness, encouraging renewed faith in the future and the ability to maintain the emotional fortitude necessary to achieve goals and dreams. Sometimes in life, for a variety of reason, people supress their internal drive. Envision helps awaken and renew that drive to overcome fear, and begin experiencing new, more rewarding dimensions.

Transformation - Helps you stop "looping" (repeating the same negative emotional pattern) and overcome negative limiting beliefs, so you can move forward in life.

Trauma Life - Releases buried emotional trauma from accidents, neglect, death of a loved one, assault, or abuse.

Release - Releases anger, frustration and resentment (apply to liver area)

Forgiveness - Enhances the ability to release hurtful memories and move beyond emotional barriers. The process of growth can only proceed when we have the ability to forgive and let go of negative emotions, and let the past be the past.

Peace & Calming - Helps calm tension and uplift the spirit, promoting relaxation and a deep sense of peace. Great for promoting restful sleep and calming overactive & overtired children. (apply to pulse points, bottom of feet, diffuse in room)

Joy - Creates magnetic energy to uplift your mood and brings joy to the heart. Can be used as anti-depressant, wear as perfume or diffuse in the room.

Gathering - Helps overcome the chaotic energy that combards our everyday life and clouds our focus, thus diverting us from the path to higher achievement. Gathering combines Galbanum and Frankincense oils from resins used by Moses for incense with sandalwood to help gather our emotional and spiritual forces, so we can achieve greater unity of purpose.

Valor - An empowering blend that works with both the physical and spiritual aspect of the body to increase feelings of strength, courage and self-esteem in the face of adversity. Also helps energy alignment of the body. Great for neck & back pain too.

Dream Catcher - An exotic formula designed to enhance the process of dreaming and visualization, and protect you from negative dreams that may cloud your vision.

Dragon Time - A blend of calming and soothing essential oils including Clary Sage, which contains natural phytoestrogens, making it the perfect choice for women's emotions during special times and needs. Its balancing properties makes it a perfect choice for supporting normal, healthy emotions during the female monthly cycle. Recommended for both young and mature women.

White Angelica - Encourages feelings of protection and security. It combines oils used during ancient times to enhance the body's aura, which brings about a sense of strength and endurance. Many people use it as protection against negative energy (apply to shoulders). Great for therapists, coaches, energy healers, holistic medicine practitioners, massage therapists, etc.

Single Oils:

Frankincense - Metaphysical: Considered the holy annointing oil in the Middle East, improving one's spiritual connection & centering for religious ceremonies and visualizations, helps calm the mind to overcome stress and despair. Medicinal: Rejuvenates skin, used in anti-aging & dry skin care products

Fennel - Metaphysical: Wards off negativity and evil. Medicinal: Improves digestion and lactation.

Mint - Metaphysical: Stimulating and energizing; inspiring. Medicinal: Cleansing and strengthening of the body.

Rosemary - Metaphysical: Energizing, stimulating, aids concentration. Medicinal: Stimulates circulation; respiratory problems; migraines.

Cedarwood - Metaphysical: Balancing, grounding, inspiring faith and optimism. Medicinal: Stimulates hair growth; respiratory ailments

Orange Peel - Metaphysical: Promotes mental clarity and emotional balance; stimulates creativity and confidence. Medicinal: Antidepressant, lymphatic drainage.

Chamomile - Metaphysical: Attracts prosperity; relaxation. Medicinal: insomnia, menstrual cramps; boosts immune system.

Juniper Berry - Metaphysical: Clears negative energy and promotes a sense of well-being. Medicinal: Urinary infections and water retention.

Angelica Root - Metaphysical: Integrating the physical, emotional and spiritual. Medicinal: Digestive problems; aids detoxification of body

Cinnamon - Metaphysical: Encouraging, uplifting. Medicinal: Cold remedies.

My Young Living Story and Exciting News
(Get a FREE Essential 7 Kit, details below)

Many of you know that I've been using the therapeutic-grade Young Living Essential Oils (founded by internationally renowned essential oils researcher D. Gary Young) since a health scare last summer (I blogged about it here). I can honestly say that the combination of acupuncture and the Young Living Essential Oils and supplements (especially NingXia Red, a super antioxidant energy drink made from Chinese wolfberry, a type of Goji Berry) has helped me tremendously in relieving several health issues, including severe neck & back pain from herniated discs, migraine, asthma and frequent colds & sinus infections.

My husband commented the other day about the dramatic turnaround I have made since last winter, and we were both amazed. I've long stopped using pain killers, neck traction, physical therapy, and inhaler, and I haven't got sick (knock on wood!), not even once this winter, despite some severe weather here in northern NJ. I'm back to martial arts training and other activities I love. I'm SO grateful for regaining my health!!!

Last Fall, I hosted a two-part Essential Oils Teleclass with guest speakers, world-renowned healer, medical intuitive & psychic detective (as seen on Discovery Channel, Biography and Court TV) Nancy Orlen Weber, RN and Christina M. Santiago. I learned that the Young Living Essential Oils not only can heal the body, many metaphysical oil blends they make can also help people manage their negative emotions & stress, overcome limiting beliefs, fears & procrastination, improve productivity & focus, attract abundance, etc. So, I decided to offer the oils to my coaching clients and whoever can benefit, thus started True Healing Oils, a division of my coaching company Beyond Horizon Coaching. It's been great working with Christina and Nancy, and helping many others with their health & emotional challenges with Young Living Essential Oils.

By the way, do you know that most so-called aromatherapy oils you find in health food stores or stores like Bath & Body Works, only contain 5-10% essential oils? That means, the other 90-95% is chemicals. Those oils are the perfume-grade essential oils. On the other hand, the Young Living Essential Oils are 100% pure therapeutic-grade essential oils. Their single oils carry the nutritional value labels and they can be ingested, as well as inhaled & applied on skin. Which would you prefer to put in your body?

Anyway, I have some exciting news to share today.

1) Young Living Essential Oils is running a fabulous promotion in both December and January, which will end on January 15, 2008. Order for at least 250 PV (roughly equals $250) between December 1, 2007, and January 15, 2008, and receive a FREE Essential 7 Kit ($64 value). This kit includes seven of Young Living's most popular and versatile oils: lavender, lemon, peppermint, Joy™, PanAway®, Peace & Calming® and Purification®. You can order in both months and get TWO Essential 7 Kits for FREE (that's what I did). If you are thinking of ordering something this month, be sure to take advantage of this great promotion.

2) For those of you who know my Teleclass guest speakers Christina Santiago and Nancy Weber, RN -- BOTH of them won the "Serenade of the Seas" Southern Caribbean Cruise (April 12-19, 2008). Nancy won the FIRST PLACE (in the entire Young Living worldwide contest) for Grand Suite and airfare for two. Christina won Ocean View with Balcony and airfare for two.

Nancy's team has been #1 in sales in the entire Young Living company for the past few months. How awesome is that!

Visit this page for more details about the Cruise Contest and other monthly prizes.

3) Also, I thought you might like to know that Nancy has just made Gold level (her monthly commission is over $7,000) and Christina just made Silver level (her monthly commission is over $3,000). I asked Christina recently how long she has been working her Young Living business, and she said she didn't really start building her business until Spring of 2007. It's a business that can help many people heal their body, mind & spirit (which is very important to me), with great potential of earning tremendous income for you and your family.

If you would like to explore the Young Living Essential Oils business, please let me know, and I (along with Christina and Nancy) will do my best to help you create an action plan and help you achieve your goals. We have a world-class team of amazing healers & business-builders, and we would love to have you join us.

No matter what your personal & professional goals are, I wish you great success in 2008! Please do not hesitate to email or call me, if I can support you in anyway.

Blessings,
Hueina

Take Action Monday Challenge
Healthy Monday is a public health campaign mobilized in 2005 by Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health to help Americans become accountable for lifestyle choices that affect their health. The campaign designates each and every Monday as a call to action – a day for healthy behaviors, for example, to choose healthy foods, exercise, drink more water, get enough sleep. Each Monday brings a new opportunity to make healthier lifestyle choices toward your health and fitness goals.

Today there are 10 actively participating organizations, including:
  • American Heart Association
  • Syracuse University
  • Fresh Direct
  • Jenny Craig
  • Chartwells
  • YMCA
  • American Diabetes Association
  • Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
You can also sign up to have Healthy Monday newsletter delivered right to your mailbox.

Phylameana at About.com: Holistic Healing suggested using the same concept and make each Monday a take action day for your New Year's Resolutions.

She wrote, 'Whether you are a procrastinator or burdened with a hectic schedule you can choose to make Monday your "get-it-done" day of the week. Make a list of the things that you tend to neglect or seldom get around to doing. Include in your list those nagging chores that you've been meaning to get around to. But also include joyful activities on your list which you have been depriving yourself from.'

What an AWESOME idea! By designating Monday as your "Take Action Day" and having a pre-written list of actions to take, you are setting up a structure and action steps for yourself to follow. Having a structure and clear action steps definitely ups your odds of completing the tasks, thus moving you one step toward your goals.

I also love that she suggested including "joyful activities which you have been depriving yourself from" on your take action list. It is important to nurture yourself, physically, emotionally and spiritually, while you are striving to achieve your goals, so you will be able to perform at 100% and avoid burnout.

So, here's how you do it: Make a list of tasks & activities that you would like to complete, whether it's related to work, family, social relationships, health (including doctor's appointments, annual check-up, etc), self-care, enrichment or just-for-fun activities. Think about things you've been meaning to do, but never get around to do. And things you would've loved to do, but you've been giving yourself excuses, or have not given yourself permission to do. Write them all on your list.

Then, every Sunday night, pick one or two things from the list, and commit to do them the next day, which is Monday. I like to decide what I'm going to do the night before, set the intention before going to bed, and even determine what time I am going to do it (if applicable). That way, I'm less likely to wake up on Monday morning feeling unmotivated, and talk myself out of taking action. But, you can also do it on Monday -- see whatever moves you the most on the list and do that.

I suggest that you choose only 1 or 2 activities from your list every Monday, instead of trying to do 5-10 things at a time. Remember, you have other priorities and tasks on your to-do list. By consciously choosing only 1-2 things that you fully commit to do on Monday, you are more likely to complete your tasks, and thus feel empowered to keep doing it every Monday. It builds self-confidence and momentum to keep you going. On the other hand, if you try to do too much at a time, and end up unable to finish your tasks, you will feel discouraged and might end up giving up altogether.

Life is not a sprint. It's a marathon. So don't forget to pace yourself and recharge whenever you need to. In the long run, taking consistent baby steps will pay off handsomely.

Now it's your turn. Will you take this Take Action Monday Challenge? Set your New Year's Intentions, and make a list of your Take Action Monday activities. Then, just commit to doing one or two things from your list every single Monday of 2008.

Come on, challenge yourself! Imagine how much you will be able to accomplish if you stick to this for 52 weeks? How will your life change at the end of 2008?

Today is Monday, so why not start TODAY?

To your success,
Hueina

P.S. Take advantage of the F*REE goal-setting quiz and Goals Report on my website. You can also request complimentary email feedback or a 30-min telephone intro session with me. If you are serious about reaching your goals THIS year, it's time to take action!

P.P.S. If you are stumped by fear of failure or fear of success, mark your calendar now for Friday February 8th, from 12:00-1:00pm. My good friend & colleague Kathy Atkinson will teach you how to use EFT to overcome your fears. Stay tuned for the official announcement and sign-up information.

Carnival of Healing #119: It is Time
Happy New Year and welcome to Carnival of Healing #119: It is Time. This Carnival is a weekly round-up of personal blog posts on the topics of holistic health, wellness, spirituality, and self-empowerment.

I'm happy to host the first Carnival of Healing in 2008. In the spirit of New Year, and kind of following the thread Daylle did in last week's carnival, I am organizing this week's submissions in a similar way.

While most people make New Year's Resolutions every year, I much prefer to set New Year's Intentions. To me, resolutions just sound like a declaration of willpower, which implies resistance and struggle. On the other hand, setting intentions and sending them out to the Universe raise your awareness and vibrational level, allow you to be detached from the outcome while allowing the Universe to do its part. It lets you embark on a new year from a more positive energy field.

Also, I firmly believe that commitment and action are crucial in achieving any goals, and the time to take action is NOW. If you were to make a declaration, make one with specific action that you will start NOW.

It is time to take action.

So, here's the round-up for this week's Carnival of Healing.

It is time to ask for what you want.
Alex Blackwell presents Ask for What You Want posted at The Next 45 Years. So often we try to explain or justify our wants or feel guilty for our desires because we don't feel that we deserve it. The truth is, to get what you want, you first have to ask for it with unwavering belief that you will get what you want. Alex challenges the readers to write up what they really want and meditate on it everyday.

It is time to give yourself permission.
Following a similar theme, Tui Bijoux presents mental mosaic » Write Yourself a Permission Slip posted at mental mosaic. If you are stuck by limiting beliefs such as "I'm not worthy" or "I don't deserve it", Tui shares a simple way to create a "Cosmic Permission Slip", so you can have the permission to do whatever you want.

It is time to have faith.
Lorraine Cohen presents Five Important Questions To Ask When Your Faith is Shaky posted at Powerfull Living. She shares 5 empowering questions and 3 actions you can take to shift from fear into faith.

It is time to make a change.
The only constant in life is change, yet it's something that so many people resist and struggle with. Roger presents More Changes posted at The Happy and Prosperous Blog. He shares many good ideas. I like the idea of consciously choosing to make small changes in everyday life. This helps you practice and appreciate changes, and we all know that practice makes perfect. :-)

It is time to be enthusiastic.
Henry Ford said that "Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait. The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas". Louise Manning stresses the importance of enthusiasm and shares some criteria to help you measure how enthusiastic you are, posted at The Human Imprint.

It is time to honor your feelings.
David B. Bohl thinks as a culture, we (Americans) tend to try too hard to avoid sadness at all costs, and that’s a very serious mistake. I agree with him. When you suffer a loss, acknowledging your feelings is crucial in the grieving process. Denial only prolongs the process and you run the risk of not recovering and not being able to really move on. Read his post to see why Sadness Isn't All Bad: Dealing with Loss posted at Slow Down Fast Today!.

It is time to forgive.
Do you hold grudges or resentment toward others? Have you done things you regret and cannot forgive yourself for it? It's hard to move forward and attract what you want in life, when you are holding on to the hurt, anger and resentment from the past. In her 3rd post on forgiveness, Akemi explains the relationships between Forgiveness and the Law of Attraction posted at Gratitude Magic.

It is time to start anew.
New Year is a good time to review your accomplishments, decide what to let go, and set new intentions about what you would like to be, do and have in the coming year. I've written about the steps you can take in Releasing the Old and Starting Anew, posted here at Intensive Care for the Nurturer's Soul.

It is time to show compassion.
Matthew Spears examines the importance of compassion and acceptance as related to the family of the child that survived abuse. He wrote, "Often it is the non-acceptance of the abuse which adds incredibly to the trauma of the experience. This looks at what compassion is, and how it applies in loving a child that survived abuse". Read his thoughts in The essence of compassion part 2 posted at Loving Awareness.

It is time to slow down.
Shirley explains Why Winter is a Good Time to Slow Down. posted at Fun Spirit. She wrote, 'With the early nights, cloudy weather and chill in the air, it’s a perfect opportunity to relax in the warmth and security of your home while you evaluate your life. Use this extra time indoors to do more inner reflection. Start a new activity like journaling, meditation, Yoga, or another stress-relieving activity. Eliminate any unnecessary commitments and take a “winter break.”'

It is time to de-clutter.
In Feng Shui and Clutter, Pat B. Doyle tells us to get rid of negative energy in our homes by getting rid of clutter, posted at Barton Pond Feng Shui.

It is time to get out of bed.

Do you hate getting out of bed in the morning? Me too. Werelax shares some tips to overcome The Stress of Getting Out of Bed posted at Where We Relax.

It is time to laugh.

Humor and laughter are important to your emotional health. Madeleine Begun Kane presents Annoying Advice Poetry Prompt (Limerick and Haiku Prompt 1) posted at Mad Kane's Humor Blog. Her poetry is definitely fun to read and her "annoying advice" is actually good advice for anyone who likes to "bitch, flinch, or whine".

It is time to think outside-the-box.
Ron Ruiz shares an interesting business idea in Can You Sell Sleep? posted at The Business Ideas-Making Money Blog.

It is time to be healthy.
Health is a priority that many people tend to sacrifice first when they get busy or stressed. Why not set an intention to make this your top priority this year?

There are several posts that give you great advice, tips, and yummy recipes for creating healthy diet and life style.

Is this the year you start living with no regrets? Is this the year you are ready to focus on what is really important for you to experience in this lifetime?

This Law of Attraction - EFT Telegathering is the first of a series of teleclasses focused on helping you to clearly identify what you need to experience in order to get to the end of your life having no regrets.

During each of the telegatherings we will be using the Goal Questions on my web site at www.8keystosuccess.com/questions.htm. We will work through the 13 different areas I have identified.

This first session will focus on the Personal Goals you have for yourself. Here are the questions from my web site:

What do you want to be, do and have?
What emotions would you like to experience more often?
What traits would you like to adopt?
What contributions do you want to make?
What personal comforts would you like to have? massages, maid?
How would you like to simplify your life?
How much personal time would you like to have each day?

After we identify what is important for you to experience, we will use EFT to release any resistance (fears, doubts, or limiting beliefs) you have to achieving your personal goals.

If this is the year you are ready to live with no regrets, register for this telegathering today.
