The other day, I woke up from a really bad dream. Usually I forget what I dream about as soon as I wake up. But, this time the dream was so real and vivid that I woke up with such an unsettling, upset feeling. I knew the dream wasn't real, but, I couldn't help but wonder what that dream signafies.
I called up my good friend Christina, hoping her intuition would give me some insight and reassurance. But, she was not available. I needed to get my clarity and inner peace back ASAP for the day's work.
So, it's all up to me now. I decided to take a few moment to center myself. I filled the ultrasonic essential oil diffuser with distilled water and the therapeutic-grade essential oils Frankincense, Lavender and White Angelica. I use different combinations of oils every day, depending on my moods and what my gut feelings tell me is needed for me. For that day, I chose those oils because I knew they could help me calm my nerve, center myself, and create a protective feeling. I also applied White Angelica around my energetic field. Then I looked for Clarity oil to help clear my head. Unfortunately, it was nowhere to be found. Is that ironic or what?! Where's Clarity when I needed it the most? It probably got lost when I showed it at a recent stress management workshop. Sometimes I let my workshop participants try on some of my favorite Young Living essential oils such as Peace and Calming, Clarity, Joy, Lavender, Peppermint. The oils are very effective stress relief tools that I regularly use for myself and for my clients.
Anyway, since I couldn't find the Clarity oil, I remembered that I just bought an oil blend called Gathering. According to the product description, Gathering "helps overcome the chaotic energy that bombards our everyday life and clouds our focus, ... combines galbanum and frankincense oils from resins used by Moses for incense with sandalwood to help gather our emotional and spiritual forces so we can achieve greater unity of purpose." Hmm, it sounded like just the perfect oil to use. So, I applied this oil on my temples and back of my neck.
Next, I found the Tibetan singing bowl meditation on my iPod and sat down, cross-legged, on my sofa. By now, my living room is infused with Frankincense, Lavender and White Angelica from the oil diffuser, and the oils I applied on myself had started taking effect as well. The Tibetan singing bowl, on top of the oils, put me into an extremely tranquil, centered and grounded state. I could feel the sound wave vibrating as if it was breaking up all the "gunk" energy around me, and I felt lighter and more relaxed. Ah, it was such a wonderful feeling. It's really hard to describe. I felt totally at peace.
By the time the singing bowl stopped (I played the track twice, so it was about 20 minutes), I opened my eyes, the unsettling feelings were gone. I felt the "inner smile" coming from inside of me. My head was clear and I was ready to start the day.
P.S. Oftentimes, you might be stressed because you are overwhelmed by the chaotic energy surrounding you, and bombarded by the non-stop demands from others. Instead of trying to work harder and faster (which stresses you out further more), try to pause and center yourself first. Whether you practice meditation or not, spending a few quiet moments to clear your head can make a huge difference in your stress level and productivity.
P.P.S. In case you are wondering about the oils I used for my meditation, they are therapeutic-grade essential oils by Young Living, which was founded by D. Gary Young.
