1. Welcome & Announcements
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I hope you and your family had a joyful holiday season, and you've come back energized and ready for a great new year! As I suggested in my last newsletter, I hope you had taken some time & thought during your holiday break to review and reflect on the events and lessons from 2006, re-focus on your goals and commitments, and plan for the coming year.
New Year offers so much hope and new possibilities. You get to start with a clean slate, and have a whole new year to plan and achieve your goals. However, in order for you to achieve your goals, it is extremely critical that you are clear about what you'd like to achieve. If you have not set your Top 3 Goals for 2007, I urge you to go to my website and take this F.REE goal-setting quiz now. It only takes 5 minutes to do it. You will receive a F.REE, personalized Goals Report along with the top 10 tips to help you achieve them. Take the goal-setting quiz now.

If you're like most people, you have written a brand new list of New Year Resolutions. But, do you know that most people fail at keeping their New Year Resolutions? The statistic is discouraging, but you don't have to give up. Sign up for the January F.REE Teleclass "The 5 Master Keys to Keeping Your New Year Resolutions".

2. Featured Article: Set Your New Year Intentions
Instead of "the usual" New Year Resolutions, I invite you to consider some different New Year Intentions. Read the featured article here.

Change is in the air. You have probably planned to make or go through some changes in your life this year. While changes is part of human life, as Buddha said "The only constant in life is change", it could be very exciting as well as stressful for some people. You can get some insights and tips from an article I wrote a while ago, titled "Take the L.E.A.P. to manage life's changes with ease". Read the full article here.
If you subscribe to the belief of "no pain, no gain", you might want to reconsider. For me, personally, fun has always been an important value in my life. A life of "all work, no play" simply does not work for me. Now, if you can have fun on the way to success, wouldn't that be fabulous? Michael Neil has figured out the secrets of "Making Success Fun" and you can read all about it here.

4. Quotes of the Week
"Look ahead with hope and see the future that's in store,
For this will be your year to SHINE and let your spirit soar!"
-- Emily Matthews
"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential." -- Ellen Goodman
"Let this coming year be better than all the others. Vow to do some of the things you've always wanted to do but couldn't find the time. ... Call up a forgotten friend. Drop an old grudge, and replace it with some pleasant memories. ... Vow not to make a promise you don't think you can keep. ... Walk tall, and smile more. You'll look 10 years younger. Don't be afraid to say, 'I love you'. Say it again. They are the sweetest words in the world." -- Ann Landers
"We reward people a lot for being rich, for being famous, for being cute, for being thin... one of the values I think we need to instill in our country, in our children, is a sense of 'usefulness', in other words, are we useful, are we making other peoples' lives a little bit better?" -- Barack Obama, U.S. Senator from Illinois
"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day." -- Edith Lovejoy Pierce
"People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas."-- Author Unknown (but greatly appreciated)

5. Resources for Your Balanced Life
If you're a mom (or dad), you might want to consider teaching your children how to set their New Year resolutions and/or goals, to enhance their learning and life skills. Dr. Adele Brodkin recommends introducing the concept of resolutions to upper elementary-age children (say grades 3 and up). Read about her tips and recommendations at Scholastic.com.
Dr. Rebbie Straubing at YOFA.net is doing another round of "jhe sessions" for the entire month of January, and you can sign up to participate with no charge at all. What some people call "healing" and "health," she calls "joyful harmonious expressiveness", i.e. jhe. If you believe in the Law of Attraction and the teachings of Abraham-Hicks, you definitely want to take advantage of this offer. You can get all the details here.

6. Just for Fun
A friend of mine sent me this joke about Jersey Girls. I got a chuckle out of this, since I live in New Jersey too.
Here are some New Year Resolutions for Internet Junkies.
See how one guy's New Year Resolutions "evolve" in "Years of Resolutions..."
Someone wrote a Happy New Year poem that you can sing to "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban. It's neat. Check it out.
