-- by Marcia WiederI have been exploring something I call "
GOING GAGA." It's the practice of expressing
Gratitude, Appreciation, Generosity, and
Abundance.
Gratitude is the feeling of being blessed and of course, grateful. It's the expression of what I love and am thankful for. It includes friends, family, good health and all the gifts in my life. My practice in this area is to also be grateful for the things I might normally dislike or reject; challenges, difficult people or situations, even receiving tough feedback. If we can be grateful for the tough stuff, it's easy to be grateful for everything else. This is a GAGA concept.
Appreciation is the act of expressing gratitude. My GAGA practice here is to "go over the top." What fun to "love on someone you love." Look for the pearls. Rather than look for what's' wrong, look for what's right. Rather than pointing out how your partner or family or team members can be better, mine for the gems. Encourage their gifts as you acknowledge what is amazing about them. And don't forget to do this for yourself. Go GAGA.
Generosity is the act of giving "it" away. Give away compliments, gifts, send cards. Give away what you don't need or even if you do. Give what you most want and it will come back in ways you can't even imagine. Give unconditionally and of course you will receive back tenfold. Go GAGA in the generosity department not just with those you know, but the strangers you meet. Be generous with your wisdom, kindness and love. Be a generous spirit.
Abundance is feeling rich regardless of how much money or real estate you have. I wrote an e-book on this which and if you are a MyDreamCircle.com member you will receive it as one of ten e-books. Let me practice what I preach by offering it to you as a gift. It's called Living a Rich Life. If you'd like to pass it on,

If you practice the first three GAGA principles, abundance is often the reward. But since they actually tie together, you can begin anywhere. One of my GAGA practices around abundance is to go to the ocean and see what true limitless possibility looks like. As far as I can see is abundance. I breathe it in and say "I am that." What we truly love and appreciate in the world and in others also lives inside of us. How's that for limitless resources?
So, go GAGA. We'd love to hear how you practice gratitude, appreciation, generosity and abundance.

I love your GAGA approach. I also find that a look out into the ocean or up into the mountains gives me a feeling of abundance and appreciation. In regards to how important it is to be a giving individual, I came across an article you may also be interested in, Learn to Give.
Thank you for your thoughts.
