1. Welcome & Announcements

I hope this finds you well. Some of my readers & friends have sent emails to check on me because they have not seen me or heard from me for a while. I really appreciate the gesture. Recently I've been MIA from writing my blogs and from participating in blog carnivals, networking meetings, martial arts classes, etc. because I have not been feeling well. You know, when you have limited energy, you really have to make choices & get your priorities straight. I chose to focus on taking care of what matters most, and let everything else slide for the time being. Health is one of those things that we often take for granted, until we lose it. My own experience with health issues definitely makes me appreciate my own body and my health. I hope you too will take this opportunity to reflect on your top priorities. You can read more about my insights in this article.

On a happier note, last weekend a local newspaper printed an article about my classmate Robert Matthews and I competing in a Chinese Kung Fu tournament in Jersey City, NJ. It was a half-page coverage with a photo of my master Gary Carbone, Robert and me with our medals. That was my first Kung Fu tournament and I won two gold medals. The tournament was more than a month ago, but, it's still very cool to see myself in print, and to get the congrats from friends & acquaintances who saw the article in the paper.

Thanksgiving is almost here, and it is the perfect time of the year to focus on gratitude. That's why the feature article of this issue is "Cultivate the Gratitude Attitude". I wish you and your family a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!!

2. Featured Article: "Cultivate the Gratitude Attitude"

One of the quickest way to make the shift from being negative, resentful, angry, victimized to being positive, compassionate and empowered, is through gratitude. When you truly feel grateful for what you have in your life (and I'm not referring to just the material things), it's almost impossible to dwell on the negative feelings. Read more about how you can consciously and actively cultivate the gratitude attitude, and how it could change your life.

"The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have helped you."

"The great Western disease is, 'I'll be happy when... When I get the money. When I get a BMW. When I get this job.' Well, the reality is, you never get to when. The only way to find happiness is to understand that happiness is not out there. It's in here. And happiness is not next week. It's now."

5. Resources for Your Balanced Life

The non-profit Life of Learning Foundation have just released a startling new program I felt sure you'd want to know about. It's called Secrets of Being Unstoppable: a comprehensive 14-hour audio program that shows you how to realize and release a secret power most of us don't even realize is ours!

The program features groundbreaking insights and instruction from best-selling self-realization author, Guy Finley. I have bought a copy of this program myself last month, and I truly enjoy the insights and principles Guy teaches, through his unique style of poignant honesty, true compassion and humor. I have listened to some of the CDs more than once, and still get new insights out of them. There are 16 CDs in this program, including titles like:

  • The Secret of Being Unstoppable
  • 5 Simple Steps to Make Yourself Fearless
  • Awaken the Greatness Within
  • The Power to Let Go and Live in the Now
  • Go Beyond Guilt and Regret to Realize a New You
  • The Eight Great False Responsibilities of Life
  • Freedom to Forgive: The Power to Put the Past Behind You
  • Secrets of Higher, Happier Human Relationships

I highly recommend this program. They also have a lot of f.ree resources on their website. Visit Life of Learning Foundation for more details and have fun exploring!

Wow, thank you so much for this!

I'm going to blog about this over on my own www.FitAndEffective.com blog...specifically designed for the busiest people to find very specific ways and means to get back to balance.

I especially enjoyed seeing this quote again:
"If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul."
    -- Rabbi Harold Kushner
