Here's the deal.

I was practically talking to nobody.

"Mike, cut it out, what are you talking about?"

Let me tell you a story.

It was 1997, I was 24 years old and I was a dreamer who couldn't hold a job.

I told my parents accountant that I 'knew' marketing and I started helping him a few hours a month with his business.

He asked me a question that turned out to change my life forever.

This is what he said.

"Mike, would you like to be a guest on my radio show?"

I hesitated, leaning toward saying "No." and decided to say "Yes!" (Make a note of this: Greatness starts by saying YES to an opportunity.)

So I appeared on his local radio show. (I even have the interview on tape still and maybe will make it available to be heard someday.)

So I was on his show for 60 minutes and I LOVED IT.

I never once thought about being on radio before, but I soenjoyed it that I asked the station manager for my own show.

She said, "Sure, pay for the time. $75 for each half hour."(This was 1997)

Follow me here because the point I'm about to share withyou can and -WILL- change your life.

So I started my own show, 'Business Breakthroughs with MikeLitman' (1240AM WGBB) and I interviewed my 'idols'.

I was 24 years old.

My 'idols' were big name CEO's, selfhelp authors and motivational speakers, but here was my little secret.

I didn't have anyone listening to the show.

I had noaudience.

I had my Mom, Dad and 1 other listener.

*** I was practically talking to nobody.

Funny, right? To this day I can think about it and laugh.

Here's the point. It's powerful if you're OPEN to RECEIVE it.

*** You're ALWAYS insignificant before you are significant.

To reach your goals, you always have to go through a TEST period which includes moments and possibly periods of insignificance.

Nature makes you EARN the right to be rich.

Here's where PERSISTENCE comes in.

Here's where - You don't have to get it right, you just have to get it going - comes in.

Those radios shows where I was practically talking to no audience, 4 years later were turned into my now #1 best-selling book 'Conversations with Millionaires'.

Who could have predicted that?

Not I. Not me.

Now hundreds of thousands of individuals have read my 'Conversations with Millionaires' and those interviews will be read for decades and decades.

I don't teach you things I haven't done myself.

I've been through periods of insignificance.

I got it going.

I fail more in a month than most people fail in a year.

Big deal.

My business has helped hundreds of thousands of people and generated millions of dollars in revenue.

The game is called SERVICE.

The game is called creating VALUE.
